Video message from Pastor Jim Magill (posted 18 March 2020):
It is with a heavy heart that I, Pastor Jim Magill, make the following statement with reference to our approach to the Corona virus crisis and our response to it as a Church.
In the interest of our people and especially our older and more vulnerable people, we have to suspend ALL of our Church activities at present, in order to see how things pan out over the next while.
We feel it wiser to operate with a prevention is better than cure mindset at present, therefore, in order to try to limit the potential impact of the virus upon us, therefore ALL CHURCH SERVICES have been suspended as have ALL our meetings thought the week, including the Thursday night Prayer Meeting, until further notice.
I also feel that I will have to curb my visitation, but I want to be there for everybody and anybody who needs me. Please ring me if you’re struggling or feel frightened or overwhelmed. I also encourage you to look out for other at this time as such is the way of Christ.
Albeit we take these precautionary actions with reluctance, we believe them to be in everyone’s best interest, and we subject them to God. We will re-evaluate the situation according to how circumstances move.
These are unprecedented times, and it’s difficult for Churches to know what to do, but the Lord would have us to exercise sanctified common sense and try to safeguard the most vulnerable. We need to pray this thing through, remembering that God knows the end of all things from the beginning. Our God is the God of Romans 8:28 and we know that ultimately this ‘All thing’ will somehow be for our good and His glory.
I close with the words of Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
